Troy Hardman

"Troy Hardman was born and raised in Utah. He has always been a very sensitive and considerate person who enjoys working with people. With more than twenty-two years of art foundry experience, working in all aspects of the craft, from the development of molds and patterns to the delicate touch-up of wax replicas and the design of their preparation for the foundry process, he is well-qualified to create your heirloom.

Troy has managed the pouring of molten bronze from huge crucibles into fragile ceramic molds, as well as the welding and reconstruction of huge raw bronze impressions as they are broken from their shells, reforming delicate sections -- welding and grinding to recreate the artist's intended form. But Troy's particular skill has focused over the years in the patination process, that method by which the craftsmanship, using chemicals, heat and pigments, puts the final touch of rich bronze color on the sculptures. It is here where he and the artist work hand in hand, drawing a myriad of colors from the metal to enhance the work's most subtle forms.

As the father of four children, Troy is well accustomed to their many moods. He is very patient and has a calm manner about him, important traits when you work with young children. At the same time, his long foundry experience has imprinted in him a determination for perfection in his craft. Creating impressions that will be long treasured as family heirlooms is a natural gift for Troy, a gift he enjoys sharing with others."
